TAKE FREE MOVEMENT FURTHER

By becoming a member of Free Movement, you not only support the hard-work that goes into maintaining the website, but get access to premium features;

  • Single login for personal use
  • FREE downloads of Free Movement ebooks
  • Access to all Free Movement blog content
  • Access to all our online training materials
  • Access to our busy forums
  • Downloadable CPD certificates

I am pleased to be able to report that there are now over 270 signed up Free Movement Members with access to the training and reference materials, including a mix of some administrators and blog contributors, group members and individual members. 424 courses have been completed and 600 CPD hours undertaken. 464 ebooks had been sold when I last checked. Each podcast gets over a thousand unique downloads. I’ve picked up over 5,000 Twitter followers and 1,000 Facebook Likes along the way and the blog is getting over 120,000 page views a month from around 65,000 visits and around 38,000 visitors.

A new course on refugee law and practice in the UK is now available to members and one on costs in immigration appeals and judicial reviews is in development and can be previewed by members already from the member’s home page (but with no claimable CPD yet).

Free Movement Membership rates will be reviewed for new sign ups in the new year, after the end of the barrister CPD year. There’s a distinct possibility the group rate might increase a little for new sign ups but the individual rate will probably stay the same.

In the meantime, I am also commissioning some development work on the blog. The most obvious change will be a redesign and probably a move to a news or magazine presentation format which displays more than just the most recent post on the screen without your having to scroll down the home page. There are a couple of examples I’m considering here and here if you are interested (the final version would be lightly customised so not identical). At the same time I may try and streamline things a little and perhaps set up a new short-form ‘alert’ blog post for things like links to updated Home Office policies, new headnoted cases and so forth. These alerts would rotate on the home page.

If you have any feedback, feature requests or suggestions for courses or ebooks, now would be a good time. The podcast in particular I feel could do with some further work. Get in touch directly by email, use the contact form or leave a comment.

  1. Freemovement has always been a good read for me ,have never expected it to be a ” Hello” fun type magazine with glossy pictures,but solid worthwhile content.If it ain’t broke don’t fix it comes to mind. That said FM has got it right so far so I could be wrong.Could use some non core CPD ideas, picked up here on E+D study at Hertford College for only 3hrs of need got drawn into 30hrs of study! Listened to most Podcasts though which gave me all the core CPD needed so that has been great.!!
