The Law Society Gazette reports that Benny Thomas of Consilium Solicitors, an immigration lawyer who lied to court, has been struck off following a Hamid hearing and referral to the SRA. The original judgment is unavailable on BAILII but was reported at the time on Free Movement.

Referral to the SRA in an unpublished judgment seems to have resulted in swift and ultimately decisive action that has protected the public, unlike the ritual of public humiliation adopted in other Hamid cases, which seems to be more about judicial sport than any more serious purpose.
