Update training

Monthly quizzes based on legal content on the main Free Movement blog and the regular Free Movement immigration update podcast. The quizzes are 10 questions long and are multiple choice or true/false. The pass mark is 70% but quizzes can be re-taken. These quizzes alone provide 12 hours CPD per year.

Skills training

Specially created online courses and key point podcasts on a range of legal skills needed by immigration lawyers. These range from basic appeals preparation (witness statements, skeleton argument and bundle hints and tips) to making urgent injunction applications. These are assessed with short quizzes.

Law training

Perfect for beginners, as a refresher or for learning about new areas of immigration practice, the legal courses cover topics including an introduction to immigration law, Zambrano and EU citizenship and Article 8 and the Immigration Rules. Short audio key point podcasts supplement some courses.

Forums

With 400 members the Free Movement forum is the place to vent steam or seek help from other immigration lawyers. Forums cover the full range of immigration law subjects and email notifications are available. Please note, no personal legal advice may be sought on the forums.

The summer 2014 asylum update was excellent and great guide to recent protection cases.

Really helpful and not as stuffy as the ones I’ve looked at elsewhere. Great tips on those of us who are trying to gauge the things to ask clients and balance this with keeping the bundles to the barest essentials, without over-bloating on facts and relevance.

This was a complex area but very well and thoroughly explained … Good legal summary of the position which I can use in practice.

A good analysis. Particular good reviewing the appeals provisions when the commencement has just been announced today.

We found the training courses actually more useful than the OISC online modules.
Emma Renshaw, Red Cross
Very useful to have links to relevant forms. Quiz at the end enabled me to check my understanding and result came with feedback as to why my answer(s) were wrong. A pleasurable way to obtain CPD.

I urge all representatives to complete this course. It reminds us that often the evidence of the child concerned can be vital, if managed from day one in the correct way. Well done on providing this course. Superb

I used this training pack when preparing for a bail hearing for a client facing deportation, and the Judge released him after being refused 3 times! I give you the credit for the confidence and knowledge I used to convince the IJ.
