The same report goes on to reveal that the Home Office is no longer even attempting to monitor the outcomes of the “papers, please” Right to Rent scheme. This is despite uncharacteristically strong criticism of this failure from David Bolt, the Chief Inspector of Borders and Immigration, in his review of the Home Office’s “hostile environment”.
